SAMe is concentrated in the liver and the brain and is a basic source of methyl in the synthesis of hormones, nucleic acid, proteins, phospholipids and neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin. SAMe plays an important role in various metabolic processes, facilitates the utilization of glutathione and maintains levels of acetylcholine, which help cognitive function and prevent aging and degeneration of neurons.
In young, healthy individuals, SAMe is distributed throughout the body. However, over time or when a disease occurs, its levels are decreasing. Taking folic acid, TMG, B6, B12 and SAMe, increases its levels. SAMe helps in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, which keeps the membranes of the cells fluid and is used by the brain to create the acetylcholine neurotransmitter.
SAMe facilitates the enzymatic processes of methylation and stimulates the hepatic levels of the vital antioxidant glutathione, the reduction of which leads to the creation of free radicals.
Two capsules once or twice daily, preferably with an empty stomach. It must be combined with vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid.
SAMe should not be consumed by people with bipolar syndrome.
During pregnancy and lactation, do not use food supplements without the advice of your doctor.
