Fo-Ti (Polygonum multiflorum), also called Ho Shou Wu, is a Chinese woody, perennial native plant, and is still used today for its tonic properties.
It appears to affect the levels of various chemicals in the body that have anti-aging properties in the human body. Traditionally, it is used to treat tuberculosis in the lymph nodes, cancer, prostatitis and constipation. It is also used to '' fortify '' the muscles, tendons and bones.
In addition, Fo-Ti is used to treat high cholesterol and other elevated blood lipids, insomnia and dizziness.
Contemporary research shows that it contains an alkaloid that has revitalizing action on nerves, brain cells and endocrine glands. It stimulates a part of the adrenal glands, and in addition, it helps detoxify the body. Hair health, a sense of surplus energy and sexual courage (the legend says the famous Chinese botanist Chung Yun, who was taking Fo-Ti), is the result of the rejuvenating action of the alkaloid it contains.
*Caution! If you suffer from hepatitis, taking Fo-Ti may aggravate the condition. It is recommended that you stop using Fo-Ti for at least 2 weeks before any surgery, because it may affect your blood sugar levels.
