Lactase be produced by the body in the small intestine, although nevertheless produce little or no lactase Lactase or if production is reduced, the lactose is not digested, it moves into the large intestine where it is fermented. This leads to the production of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and organic acids thereby formed cramps, gas, and diarrhea.
Lactose intolerance is not a threat to good health, nevertheless, can make patients feel uncomfortable and although the avoidance of dairy products is a solution, it may be impractical as it may result in nutritional limitations.
The enzyme activity is measured and expressed through units of Food Chemical Codex (FCC), the national standard for plant enzymes which description is better than that of milligrams, and describes the level of enzyme activity.
