Herbalists recommend cinnamon bark as a remedy for diseases related to the digestive system, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It is known to contain a number of bioactive ingredients, capable of neutralizing free radicals. A scientific study published in 2009 in the JournaloftheAmericanCollegeofNutrition, showed that overweight people while taking cinnamon bark supplements significantly reduced the number of free radicals in their body.
