World's AIDS DΑΥ

1st December is established as World's AIDS Day since 1988 by decision of the World Health Organisation and  the UN General Assembly .

AIDS is one of the most devastating epidemics in world history . From 1981 observed clinically in the U.S. , around 25 million people have lost their lives , while 33 million are HIV positive. Sexual contact is the main mode of transmission of HIV.

As the HCDCP indicates spreading of HIV / AIDS epidemic rises steadily in the last decade . From 3.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2002 , rising to 9.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the first ten months of 2012 .
