Component Actions
Berberine, the alkaloid from the Berberis aristata plant, supports the improvement of the lipid profile in multiple ways. It helps increase LDL receptors in the liver. It also favors the reduced synthesis and increased breakdown of Triglycerides.
Monacolin K, contained in Red Yeast Rice, contributes to reduced cholesterol synthesis, as it inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase.
Silymarin from the milk thistle plant has important antioxidant properties that protect the liver, the main organ of cholesterol metabolism. It contributes to the regulation of cholesterol metabolism and its removal through bile, improving lipid levels.
Guggulsterones, plant sterols contained in the Guggul plant. They show antilipidemic effects through an effect on the FXR receptor, a protein that has an important role in regulating cholesterol metabolism and its breakdown through bile acid synthesis.
