Useful in cases of fertility in males, anorexia nervosa and various cases of inflammations and infections, rheumatoid arthritis, acne, macular degeneration and senile dementia.

Increased needs are pregnant, nursing, surgery, trauma and alcoholism. Zinc deficiency often show alcoholics, vegetarians and seniors.

High doses of zinc can affect the levels of copper (and vice versa). While the scientific opinions on the ideal ratio of copper-zinc divided, for prolonged periods of use the ratio of 1:7.5 and 1:10 copper to zinc is likely needed.
